From 26 to 28 October 2022 we met for our first Kick-Off meeting!
Research partners from Freiburg, Milan and Hamilton (Canada) as well as 3 patient organizations from Canada, Italy and Germany are working together to improve transition for people with Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD). Transition refers to the transition of adolescents and young adults with chronic impairments from child-centered to adult-centered health care. For adolescents with DMD, as well as many with other diagnoses, there continues to be a great need for improvement. The first presence meeting just took place in Freiburg, Germany, on the premises of the Department of Neuropediatrics and Muscle Disorders and the German Society for Muscle Disorders (DGM).
Young people with DMD are invited to participate in the project in an advisory role.
